Training and Recognition vs. PIS Encoding. So hard to decide. So hard to say “no” to both. Have you ever been caught between two choices at once and you only have fie minutes to think about it? The choices were: learning vs. new experience.
And I chose… learning.
One because, my new experience opportunity was give a day earlier, I attended the PIS encoding on the first day. That is a “WOW!” experience for me.
And two because, this training/recognition thing is something “new” and I want a taste of dry weather for a while before I go hustling with school activities.
Long trips like this in hired vans plus all the time in the world to conceptualize, brainstorm, and listen to good music, is all a person would ever need before a full schedule of paper work, meeting old and new people, and paper presentations. So I took it and I embraced it (shyly) with all my smiley face.
The day started with hunger and that feeling of one long sleepless night even though I took naps from time to time. The training was opened by sir KJ. He was straight to the point and his teachings were easily understood despite the grammar and pronunciation and stuff.
“…being intelligent and smart is not enough, you also have to have wisdom…” – Sir KJ
Then here comes the 7 Big Problems in Building Your Network, which I will share in later posts. We played with deck of cards, where cards are actual people. I never thought that knowing and understanding people will be as easy as flipping two cards in a minute.
Late lunch, which was okay, and the food is of quality, I should say because I went for three rounds no-stop and it was indeed satisfying. Of course our day was filled with free-flowing el cafe and el marino, which kept us alive and active the whole time.
After lunch, Sir John was up next as the speaker. He started off with his experiences and all and another game of cards transpired. GLLA was emphasized during his talk and yes, it is all about “listening” and common sense that we laugh at ourselves after the game.
I am definitely going to buy a deck of cards!!!
Last but not the least, recognition time! I apologize if I wasn’t that familiar with the rankings and I get nervous every time I was asked about them rankings, but whew, there are a lot to memorize and keep track of, and I blame extensive excitement and nervousness for my stammering and fidgety fingers.
To sum it up, we all enjoyed the day and we are prepared to go home and share it with the world. I won’t share it right now though, cause am planning something for how I will share it with you guys. Anyways, we came home at 2 in the morning and we are all beat.
We need to wake up early for the family breakfast at The Manor and we only slept for three hours. I woke up and my body feels heavy. Ha ha. Having less or no sleep at all was normal for me but maybe the thrill of the day has taken its toll on me.
