One day in a shed in Magmel, Luke was waiting for the bus to arrive but it seems like it was gonna take a while with rain pouring cats and dogs. He noticed that the person beside him was looking in the sky with a look he once had. “It was raining like this when it happened,” said the person.
“Excuse me?” replied Luke. The person looked at Luke and smiled.
Luke stared at the bright eyes as she smiled at him. “I met him here, under the rain, before he left to be with somebody else,” she said. Luke was puzzled as to why a man would meet her only to leave for another person. “What happened then?” he asked, his voice shaking, uncertain if he will get an answer or if he will be ignored and left hanging. Her eyes went bigger and she smiled more, surprised that some stranger under the heavy rain was interested to hear her story for the first time since her best friend left five years ago.
“I was messed up so bad. I could not do anything properly and it seemed like the world fell on me…” she said. “We were doing well and suddenly….. He was gone, fading away, about to be out of hand’s reach. I didn’t like it” she continued.
Luke just listened to her as he felt the same way for he was also left for someone else. “It was raining like this when he called me up to meet with him and talk. I knew at that moment something is about to be settled and it did. He told me everything and left me devastated.” She explained. As luke was about to give his thoughts about it, she interrupted. “But I did realize something…”
Luke sat on the bench and ushered her to sit beside him. “What did you realize?” he asked. ‘This is getting interesting,’ he thought as he examined the pale, innocent face of the girl beside her and noticed how odd she looks like with a red coat, a pale pink ruffled dress underneath, and brown stiletto boots. She sighed and looked deep into the sky once more. She was about to say what she realized when a bus stopped in front of them.
“Maybe some other time Mr…?” She said. “Luke is the name and you mademoiselle?” asked Luke with a warm smile on his face. She looked back on the staircase of the bus. “My name? My name’s Suzy. I’ll see you around Luke”. Luke was amazed at how his rainy day went but something was bothering him. It felt like he saw that girl from somewhere in the past.
His face lightened up and tried to stop the bus but the door closed and the bus started to move. He searched through the windows and saw her sat at the back, her head leaning on the window. He stared at her as the bus went on its way. ‘Will I ever see you again?’ he thought. He opened his Social Media accounts to see if she has been on his list of friends/followers, but her name and or face is nowhere to be seen. He looked at the empty road once more and thought ‘I know we will see each other again.’
