“I see something in you, but I don’t know what it is.”– Dananjaya Hettiarachchi
I could be talking a lot about qualities and skills and about quicksands and how to get out of it but I have put it all out somewhere so it leaves me to today’s unspoken thoughts of being under yet getting a grip of the rope above.
Some say people see something in us that we ourselves could not notice. Well, I see nothing in me but a cheerful chimp who loves to ask the wrong questions and blurts out the wrong answers at the wrong time. So whatever you see in me might not have been me. AHAHAHA. But I see some people who has potential and when I trust my judgement about people being capable of things, I know I am always right. And what I want to say to you is…”I see something in you, but I don’t know what it is.”
The world is your playground. There is nothing to lose when you try everything. So why not go and dive in with both feet? You might be surprised as to what life has in store for you when you let things happen by itself and not to be 100% in control of it. Like in Toastmasters, for example. We are supposed to write our speeches every single time. From outlines to drafts to finally standing in front and delivering a 1-2 minute speech, or 4-5 minutes or 5-7 minutes or longer. That makes you in control of stuff. But for me, I just can’t get myself to write a speech. I mean, I could write an outline and a draft but when I reach the floor, I deliver something different–far from what I have originally prepared, most of the time. That is me, being not in control of the things I say in font. That aside, If you think less and just do it then you would have been done with Problem No. 1 and on to Problem No. 2 by now. But of course as we all know, people can be difficult. Or complicated.
There is a limit to what people can do. And think. And say. But that is just because we think too much. We care too much about what we say and do and think. Would it not be so exciting to not think at all? To not care about doing anything or saying anything at all? And to be just free? Well, that way, we have said weird things by now and people would be saying every single thing that pops in their heads and our politicians would have busted themselves if they admitted their inner most intentions and that would be too hilarious. Anyways.
I am not saying you should not think at all, literally. I am just saying that you have to put Thinking, Control, and Doing Stuff in their right places. If you put Thinking into its right place, it means you would be thinking about solving, solving, solving. If you put Control in its righteous place, then WOW you have my full respect and attention because putting Control in its righteous place means you have the upper hand in whatever you are in right now. If you put Doing Stuff in its right place, it means that you have surpassed the leaders who have done nothing but tell you to do stuff.
But then again, it is how you do it that matters. It is always a question of HOW and not really WHAT. How should you put Thinking, Control, and Doing Stuff in their right place? How should you think? How and where should you put Control? How should you do stuff while having all these problems? How should you act? How should you say things? How should you think…?
I think I have repeated it over and over again. It is not what you say that matters, it is how you say it that matters. I would like to leave you with this though…
I see something in you, but I don’t know what it is. So why not take this chance to dive in with both feet and let’s see what’s that something? Are you in?
